The H3-45
"Facelift"
Imagine the Possibilities!
"We see the Prevost H3-45 as a solid,
flexible and reliable bus chassis. Perhaps one of the finest bus chassis ever
built," says
Doug Stolfo of Excalibur Coach.
Stolfo and his crew in the Sanford,
Florida shop ought to know, as they have modified, updated, refurbished and
remodeled virtually every shell type produced by Prevost Car in the last
several years.
Of the many projects undertaken by
Excalibur is the updating of existing H3-45 coaches, with partial and complete
front and rear panels, lighting and paint.
"Owners who love their coach and don't
want to trade have the option of updating their coach to newer looks at a
fraction of the cost of buying a new coach," Stolfo notes. Excalibur has
replaced complete front end and rear ends on the H3-45 as well as front
bumpers, rear bumpers and rear engine door assemblies.

Working with customers, Excalibur is
able to customize an existing H3-45 with a fresh look, updated lighting
packages, new paint, and in some cases new grill assemblies, to make an
existing H3-45 appearance into that of a new H3-45, with Xenon lighting
packages.
"Customers are surprised to see, in
just two weeks time, their coach go from a 4-pane windshield with stock
lighting packages to a new 2-pane windshield, new lighting and a modern look
at a fraction of the cost of buying a new coach," he notes.
Each update is different, depending
upon the coach owner's desires and paint schemes, but Stolfo estimates that
the average cost for a front 'facelift' for the H3-45 at about $26,500.
Doug started theses updates in 2003 when he
ran the Jacksonville Prevost Branch. Doug has many references to contact and
all his work is guaranteed for 1 year.
"This is one of those occasions during
coach ownership where we can work directly with the owner of the coach to
update and customize the appearance of the coach on an individual basis. It's
just like delivering a new coach to a customer, and that's a great day for us
and for our customers!"
