Prevost
Owners Group Rallies in Pahrump, Nevada
The Prevost Owners Group held rally number VI in the desert sun just west of Las Vegas, Nevada May 5-10. Members arrived from all directions to make this one of the best rallies yet. For some, it was their first POG Rally and certainly won’t be their last.

Early arrivals scoped out the park and got to see the folks in real life they have been chatting with online. A preliminary steak dinner was enjoyed by the members in a private room at the Stockman’s Steakhouse in Pahrump.
As the weekend progressed toward Monday’s scheduled arrival of Prevosts, people disappeared into town and into their coaches to make sure their offering at the potluck was up to snuff.
Other members attending the rally at Seibt Desert Retreat arrived on Monday and were happy to get settled in for week full of fun, friendship and learning. The potluck was a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Decorations were put up by members to really create the atmosphere for the event. Most importantly, the food brought by all of the members was delicious and the margaritas were great! Kudos go to Martha Wilson for her authentic Mexican tamales and tortillas which were to die for. ( We hope we see some more of these at future POG Rallies.)

visual computer demonstration created by Hector Duplichen was exceptionally well
done and enhanced the presentation.
Janet Zittrer worked with the ladies creating beautiful vase and flower

Wednesday was a free day for people to see the area, participate in activities or just relax. In the late afternoon and early evening attendees were treated to a wine tour of the Pahrump Valley Winery. Following the tour was a tasting at our tables. After the tasting of the extensive variety of Pahrump Valley wines, members ordered off the menu. The meal, service and setting was fantastic. It was a special evening. We recognize support from California Coach Company for this event.

Thursday morning brought a very informative PDI
(Pre-Delivery Inspection) Seminar lead by Steve Bennett of California Company.
Steve is very knowledgeable and also fielded questions from attendees who shared
their own experiences with the group.
Newly recruited presenter Jill Benshoof presented a wonderful talk and slide
show on landscape architecture. Jill’s experience in this field is impressive.
Her presentation spanned everything from Southern California’s rich Arts &
Crafts history, to building stone walls and choosing appropriate plants for a
wide range of landscaping projects.

In the afternoon Ronnie Scott of D&D Tire in Pahrump spoke with members about Michelin Motorhome Tires. It was an informative discussion attended by membership who had a lot of questions.
Later members had open coaches and shared libations and food outside. Members began preparing for the Charity Auction to benefit the Pahrump Senior Center and Meals on Wheels. A BBQ chicken dinner was followed by the auction. Those donating items were very generous, offering a variety of things for members to bid on. Special Kudos to Don Wilson of the famous rock group The Ventures and Mark Armstrong of Prevostcar in Mira Loma for their generous donations. All members of POG were contributed items or large bids to this successful charity event that raised over $4000.00!

Friday morning, really early, was to bring the most surprising event in POG history. While the Prevost Owners Group members in Nevada slept, two members, one from Texas and the other from Virginia, were airborne, heading for Pahrump to play practical jokes in the early hours. Jerry "JDUB" Winchester and Mike "Mango Mike" Anderson have set a new standard in POG high jinks!

On Friday attendees woke up to a variety of tricks played on
them and their coaches. There was a lot of finger pointing going on! They had no
idea who did it until later in the day when the "perps" showed up to spill the
beans. Jon Wehrenberg did a general talk on Friday including Prevost brakes.
Several members went into town for a Mexican lunch. In the afternoon Jerry and
Mike hosted a party where folks shared the excitement of the previous night's
events. The party was followed by dinner as the week and the rally wound down.
