"Ultimate Toweds" Gives Inside 'Scoop' at POG IV

A new firm on the scene, Ultimate Toweds, provided POG IV attendees the inside story on new innovations in tow vehicles.
In tune with the POG membership, the new company first bribed the attendees with home-made ice cream and brownies (smart move).
The firm, headed by Teresa Ott, based in Sedalia, Missouri, provides a one-stop shop for those desiring a tow vehicle with the correct configuration of hitch, transmission pump and associated gear and matching paint jobs on tow vehicles for Prevost owners.  As a starting point, the company has devised a proven towing system for the Mercedes 2006-2007 ML and GL series automobiles, previously considered to be, "untowable."

Company spokesman R. A. Potts provided the POG attendees with the company's history and experience of working with early prototypes, especially those with electronically operated transmissions, a challenge to conventional towing.

Very quickly, a spirited question and answer session ensued with many Prevost owners sharing their stories and experiences with tow vehicles, various state requirements, load ratings of hitches and the need for tow vehicle braking systems.  Apparently many manufacturers have conflicting or confusing information about the towability of their particular products and POG members determined that, as the company had done, to thoroughly research the tow status of a vehicle prior to purchase.

By attending the seminar, many members were able to get conflicting information sorted out and helped one another determine the best solution for evaluating the viability of a tow vehicle and many of the important questions to ask; and who to ask, especially for the newer, more advanced SUV's and all-wheel drive vehicles.
